On 6 April at 19:30, the Moscow Kremlin Museums and KARO.Art invite the public to the cinema ‘KARO 11 Octyabr’ to watch the film screening "Horde" by Andrew Proshkin and listen to the lecture of Elizaveta Titova, lecturer and art historian of the Moscow Kremlin Museums.

The film will tell about a miraculous healing of khan's wife Taidula by Metropolitan Alexis, whose name goes close with the elevation of Moscow in the 14^th century and the beginning of young Dmitry Donskoy’s Princedom.

The screening will begin with a lecture of Elizaveta Titova, who will pay attention to the fact that spectacular decorations and costumes, used in the film, are not a reconstruction of the past, but a free fantasy of modern artists. The lecturer will explain what vestments Metropolitan Alexis actually wore and what present he got from khan’s wife for her healing. She will also tell about the precious attire of Metropolitan Alexis – a unique Russian-made sakkos of the 14^th century with a cross-shaped pattern and its restoration that had taken more than 10 years. Elizaveta Titova will introduce the history and the results of archaeological researches of the Chudov Monastery that was built by Metropolitan Alexis on the land granted him for the healing of khan’s wife. The audience will learn, whether the monastery was really found in place of the ‘Tatar’s court’ in the Kremlin and what fragments of that enormous complex can be seen today in the archaeological pit on the Ivanovskaya Square in the Moscow Kremlin.
