On August 20, 2015, the photo project #ConceptKremlin took place in the Moscow Kremlin Museums. The project is a part of the “Concept” series (@Concept_Project) involving Instagram bloggers with thousands of followers.

#ConceptKremlin is an event aimed at telling about the Moscow Kremlin, the symbol of Russian statehood as well as the historical and cultural museum preserve, by the means of contemporary photography.

The Moscow Kremlin Museums invited bloggers to come to the Kremlin on the Museums’ day off, when there were no visitors inside. The participants walked down the Cathedral and Ivanovskaya squares, visited the Armoury and Patriarch’s chambers and Ivan the Great Bell-Tower and carried out informal photo sessions representing the chosen artistic image.

"The Moscow Kremlin Museums are the unique architectural and museum complex, visiting which is a significant event for every visitor. By expanding exhibition space and opening new exhibitions, we strive to ensure that every visitor founds something important for oneself in the Kremlin. I believe that the ConceptKremlin project will help our social media subscribers and Internet users to discover the Kremlin from another angle and to feel the atmosphere of squares and buildings, ancient cathedrals and chambers. There is a misconception that it’s hard to get inside the Kremlin, so I hope that this project will also contribute to discrediting this myth", said Elena Gagarina, General Director of the Moscow Kremlin Museums.

Every event  of the @concept_project series in Instagram is a creative workshop forming the new outlook on the well-known and familiar cultural places. The idea of the “Concept” project belongs to Ekaterina Mishchenkova (@katia_mi), the conceptualist blogger with the audience of around 500 thousand subscribers, member of the Photographers Union of Russia and InstagramersWorldTeam. According to Ekaterina, the participating bloggers are to appear wearing historical costumes in front of their audience and try to communicate the distinctive atmosphere of the Kremlin with their photos. “We have carried out similar projects in other leading Russian and foreign museums. Visiting the territory of the Kremlin and showing our view of this museum to the world is a special honor for us”, says Ekaterina Mishchenkova.
