"The Encyclopedia or the Glossary of Science, Arts and Crafts" – one of the most large-scale reference editions of the 18th century. The working on the book were Jean Le Rond D'Alembert, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Voltaire, Montesquieu and other scientists of the Age of Enlightenment, whom we now call the Encyclopaedists as they worked on this glossary. The exhibition "France and Russia: Ten Centuries Together" presents the ninth volume of the "Collection of Engravings about Sciences, Liberal Arts and Technical Arts" of the famous Illuminators’ Encyclopedia, illustration various artisanal manufacturing.
