In the spring of 1836 Solntsev was involved in restoration of the the Kremlin Terem palace. Drawings of the lost interior design were executed on the instructions of the baron Bode, vice-president of the Moscow palace office, and approved by the Emperor.

In 1839-1840 Solntsev and other makers assisted in construction of the Grand Kremlin Palace under the supervision of the architect K. Ton. They executed drawings with images of parquets, doors, carpets of the receiving ceremonial and living quarters of the palace, designs of the interior utensils, tableware, candlesticks and fireplaces. The exhibits in a new Russian style represent a quality and various techniques of the Solntsev's painting, which played an important role in developing of the Russian typical decorative elements and methods of ornamentation.
