Dear collegues!

On February, 1-3, 2005 the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Preserve "The Moscow Kremlin" invites You to participate in the conference "Italy and the Court of Moscow rulers in the XVth-XVIIth century".

The conference is dedicated to the variety of relations between Russia and Italy in the XVth-XVIIth centuries. The themes to be considered are:

- Byzantium-Italy-the Moscow Rus. Artistic links.
- Relations of the Great Moscow Princes' and Tsars' Court with Italy. Specific features of the Italian Art at the Court of Russian rulers and its influence on the Art of Moscow Rus.
- Italo-Russian contacts in the field of liturgic art – mythos or reality?
- Italian protographs of some Old Russian icons of Our Lady
- Italian architects at the Great Moscow Princes' and Tsars' Court .
- Artistic monuments of Russo-Italian dyplomatic and trade relations of the XVth-XVIIth centuries in museum and private collections of Russia and Russian monuments in Italy (new data in history of collections' forming, new attributions, new data about makers of applied art, new resources and monuments etc.).

For participation in the conference please send an application form up to the 29th of August, 2004 (view additional materials) and report theses. Theses are accepted in Word and RTF format or by e-mail (not more than 6000 signes). Footnotes and references in the end of the text.

The Organizing Commitee of the Conference would select reports and articles.

All the expenses of participants from other cities are for account of a directing side.
