Showcase 28. Russian warrior in suit of battle armour

In the XVIth-XVIIth centuries firearms became widespread in Russia. New types of weapons having appeared, the traditional sidearms, i.e. maces, shestopers (six-feather maces), pernates (maces with different number of plates), berdyshes (long, broad axes) etc., lost their military importance and became merely insignia of military authority. The showcase 28 represents a full set of the XVIIth-century armour for a rider.
