Showcase 8. Covers of the shrines of Tsarevitch Demetrius and Cyril Belozersky

Since 1986 two pieces of virtu of the first half of the XVIIth century are exhibited in the Armoury Chamber. The covers of the Tsarevitch Demetrius's shrine from the Kremlin Archangel’s Cathedral and Cyril Belozersky's shrine were executed by the makers of the Kremlin Silver Chamber, i.e. Paul Vlasev, Timothy Ivanov, Vasily Korovnikov, Vasily Malosoltsev, under the direction of Gabriel Ovdokimov. Engraved full-length images are individual and expressive, being the unique articles of the applied and decorative arts.
