The King's Gate is a necessary part of the iconostasis. It is a gate to the altar of the cathedral symbolizing the Paradise and a symbolic entrance to the Kingdom of Heavens. The carved gilt King's Gate of the Archangel's Cathedral was executed in the 70-s of the XVIIIth century in the stule of Baroque. Its refined carved doors are adorned with oval icons depicting the Annunciation and four Evangelists. All the icons were painted with oil on metal tables. The Gate is crowned with a carved vault with an icon of "the Last Supper".
