The "Virgil" is placed among figures of the antique philosophers on a pier between windows of the western gallery. Whereas he was always represented within the composition of “Tree of Jesse”, wearing tsar’s ceremonial vestments, his image in the gallery of the Annunciation Cathedral is remarkably decorated with mantle and wide-brimmed hat.
