Byzantine Emperors
Images of the Byzantine Emperors are placed on pillars of the south-western gallery. Above the tsar’s place for praying Constantine the Emperor and his mother Helena are represented. The images of Emperor Michael and Empress Theodora occupy the mural above the choir lofts. Both of the Emperors played a great role in development of the Christian church.
