The A.R.C.E.C. Kremlin Military School was erected in 1932-1934 on the project of architect Ilya Rherberg on the place of the Chudov Monastery and the Ascension Nunnery abolished in 1929.

It is a building of complex configuration shaped as a trident directed towards the Moskva River. The front elevation, facing the Moskva River, is symmetrical. Its center is punctuated by a bossed part with an eight-column portico of ionic order. The side-face of the construction is adjacent to the eastern part of Ivan Square.

In 1950-s, the building was given over to the USSR Supreme Council, and in 1958, it was partly reconstructed for the Kremlin’s Theatre seated 1200. We would also mention daintily decorated theatre interiors designed by architect A.F. Khryakov.
