The virtual visit of the New acquisitions display acquaints You with masterpieces from the collection of Moscow Kremlin Museums, replenished for about five and a half thousands items in the latest ten years.
The most eminent exhibits are the most ancient items. It is a Byzantine set of a scoop and a spoon of the IVth-Vth centuries and a pair of Kiev golden cloisonnй enameled kolts (pendants) of the XIIth century.
Artworks by largest jewellery firms of Russia in the late XIXth-early XXth centuries - Carl Faberge, Ivan Khlebnikov, Fyodor Loriet and others - are presented traditionally wide. Gorgeous, skillfully executed jewellery and table sets attract attention.
Particular attention is paid to weapons collection completing, the museum was named after. It is being replenished by either ancient monuments or artworks by modern makers.
In 2004, the museum purchased a large and representative collection of ceremonial dresses of the late XIXth century, that belonged to Archdukes Lichtenberg. It includes circa seventy items - dresses, bashlyks (hoods), gloves, umbrellas, as well as two family photo albums. Up till now, in our collection including imperial ceremonial dresses there have not been dresses of the court circle.
A large number of monuments have been acquired by Moscow Kremlin Museums as gifts from statesmen, collectors and artists. Donators of the Museum were Vladimir Putin, the President of the Russian Federation, the "Russkiye palaty" gallery of author weapons, the Club of weapons' collector, Association of weapon historians "Arsenal", authors of artworks M.V. Gorelik, Yu.A. Vlasov, V.Yu. Zhukov, G.V. Kopylov, A.M. Kurbatov, A.N. Meshkov, V.V. Timofeev, antiquarian and collector F. Yu. Shavyrin, owners E.Yu. Gagarina, A.A. Esaulkov, A.V. Levashova, one of world leaders of diamond production "ALROSA" joint-stock company.
