Italy and the Moscow Court

A virtual visit of the display "Italy and the Moscow Court" represents the monuments significative of special forms and methods of interaction between the Italian art and the Russian court culture of the XV-XVIIth centuries. Many of these unique displays related to the most important events during the Russian history, Russian tsars, church hierarchs.
The items made of precious Italian fabrics in Russia form the basis of the exhibition. The represented exhibits are: ceremonial tsar's dress (hall 1 and 3, the halls' items in the museum catalogue) and vestments of the Russian Orthodox Church's hierarchs (hall 4 and 5, the halls' items in the museum catalogue), various items of official and court ceremonies, of ceremonial church services held at the Assumption Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin, of royal passages and equipage (hall 1 - 5, the halls' items in the museum catalogue).
There are several items of the Italian arts and crafts, arms - from the Moscow Kremlin Museums collection - on displays in the halls 2, 3, 5 and 6, in the museum catalogues of these halls.
Please take note of the exhibits of the XVth century - the white-stone details of the Grand princes' palace and the Kremlin buildings, which construction was carried out by the Italian masters (hall 2, the halls' items in the museum catalogue).
Some of the exhibits have concern with the times and personalities of Sophia Paleolog and Ivan III (hall 1, the halls' items in the museum catalogue).
