The building of the Ambassadorial Office belonged to the large complex of office buildings - state institutions built on the Moscow Kremlin's Ivan Square in 1675-1680. In 1697-1698, famous architect Ossip Startsev rebuilt the stone two-storey chambers of the Ambassadorial Office and adorned them with rich barocco decor. In 1702, the building burnt out. It was restored in 1703 by architect Grigory Ustinov. The offices were demolished in the early1770-s as the Grand Kremlin Palace projected by V.I. Bazhenov was founded.
