The publication, timed to coincide with the exhibition at the Moscow Kremlin Museums, is dedicated to the prominent Moscow collector P.F. Karabanov.  The catalogue also tells the story of other collectors of the time, including Count A.I. Musin-Pushkin, Prince N.B. Yusupov, Prince M.A. Obolensky, and historian M.P. Pogodin.The preface to the book tells us about the life of P.F. Karabanov and the reasons for his interest in collecting rarities and historical relics. Special attention is paid to the history of the collector's creation of the Russian Museum in Moscow, which housed numerous pieces representing antiquity in all its diversity.


The catalogue is on sale in the
exhibition hall of the Assumption Belfry, in the museum shops in the Alexander Garden and in front of the Patriarch's Palace, in the Armoury Chamber and in the Assumption and Annunciation Cathedrals.
