The Moscow Kremlin State Historical and Cultural Museum and Heritage Site take part in the Intermuseum 2014 International Festival of Museums, being carried out in Moscow, in the Central Exhibition Hall Manege (Moscow Manege) from the 3rd to 9th of June, 2014. At Intermuseum 2014 the Moscow Kremlin Museums presents the exposition intended to trace the use and benefits of multimedia technologies within the museum's exhibition projects.

The main theme of the festival — one of the largest events of the Year of Culture in Russia 2014 — is a Museums in the Digital Era: Museums in the Information Space. The museum’s stand introduces to the public the informative and educational programs for children and adults involving interactive, computer-based applications, which have been developed to accompany the exhibitions «Grand Prince of all Rus Ivan III», «Coronations of Russian Tsars and Emperors at the Moscow Kremlin», «The Art of Restoration at the Moscow Kremlin Museums». The museum's video materials unveil some mysteries of the laborious restoration process and presents methods and techniques, employed by the Kremlin craftsmen. The exposition also introduces a new interactive program for a multi-touch sensitive table «We build the Kremlin». The stand provides information on a new web portal www.kreml.ru, current and future exhibitions, the latest publications of the Moscow Kremlin Museums.

«We tried to reveal the necessity of successful interaction between the «real» and «digital» within the museum's space and practice, which is explained by several examples of our multimedia solutions and innovative programs developed to support our exhibition projects»

Olga Dmitrieva. Deputy director on Scientific Popularization Affairs of the Moscow Kremlin Museums

Our exposition also provides full information on a new project — audiocard-guide to the territory of the Moscow Kremlin, produced by the company Guide-Map Book Media. Furthermore our young visitors can try to play an interactive game «We build the Kremlin» to learn more about the history of the Kremlin's walls, towers and other constructions in the territory of the Borovitsky Hill.
