the exhibition hall of the Russian Federal Archival Agency, Moscow

Organised by:
the Moscow Kremlin Museums, the Russian State Archive of Ancient Documents (RGADA)

BardicheThe exhibition, being held in the exhibition hall of the Russian Federal Archival Agency in Moscow, is timed to the 400th Anniversary of ending of the Time of Troubles – one of the most complicated and tragic periods in the Russian history, lasted from 1584 to 1613 and marked by natural disasters, famine, dynastic, political and economic crises, civil uprisings and eastward invasions, carried out by the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth.

The exposed historical records and authentic museum items were brought together to illustrate the events of the period and interpret the overcoming of the Time of Troubles, which contributed to the consolidation of the Russian society and established foundations for the development of the powerful Russian Empire under the Romanov dynasty.

At the exhibition the Moscow Kremlin Museums present rare seen pieces of firearms and cold arms, armour and battle headpieces of the XVIth-XVIIth centuries.

Among the exhibits there is a printed gospel book, which belonged to the noted figure of the period - Bishop Arseniy Elassonsky, who crowned False Dmitriy I in 1605.
